A few weeks ago, I was watching TV with my kids on a Friday night. A commercial started playing and for some reason I watched it instead of looking at product pages for our customers on jet.com (you know, to give our spiders a break).
It was a brilliantly clever and funny ad by Lifelock. The commercial’s action centers on a bank. When robbers demand that everyone get on the floor, a customer looks up and sees a security guard standing confidently, yet nonchalantly, amidst the chaos. She whispers harshly: “do something.” The guard casually responds: “Oh I’m not a security guard. I’m a security monitor. I only notify people if there is a robbery.” (Pregnant pause.) “There’s a robbery.”
Cut to the tagline for Lifelock: “Why Monitor a Problem If You don’t Fix It?”
Content Analytics Monitors and Fixes Problems
This exemplifies how I think about the technology suite that Content Analytics delivers to our clients. We pride ourselves on being a true end-to-end platform that unifies analytics, real-time reporting, and content management. The rest of the industry offers single-point solutions. Many analytics providers have legacy technology that will give you some insights into problems with manufacturer product listings. But, they don’t provide the tools to fix it.
On the other hand, the content syndicators have tools that you can use (after a major 6-month implementation) but don’t provide adequate direction. You have a fix, but for what problem? How can you have one without the other?
Content Analytics does both.
First: we identify the problem using our best-in-class analytics tools. We scrape client websites daily to monitor their content health, SEO performance, in-stock position, buy box ownership, price, etc.
We first tell them where the problems and opportunities are. We also provide the tools to fix those content opportunities and show them specifically where to optimize for search. In short: we monitor the problem and provide the solution. We remain the only provider that does both.
We have a strong reputation as an analytics company, namely because we started as a next-generation web scraper. We have since built out our capabilities across hundreds of websites in many countries.
When clients have needs for new scrapers, we build them almost instantly. However, our content management capabilities continue to expand, adding to our real-time retailer syndication network at a blistering pace. Here are a few of the highlights:
- Real-time API integration with Walmart.com and Jet.com
- Template support for Dollargeneral.com; stay tuned for our live Magento plugin
- Real-Time API integration with Instacart.com, the first provider to satisfy their criteria for seamless backend publishing. Why is this significant?
- Instacart is a market-leading same-day grocery delivery service founded by Apoorva Mehta (of Amazon.com fame)
- Instacart partners with major grocery chains so customers can buy groceries online
- We are the first syndication service to enjoy real-time capability with this market driver
This would be a very, very long post if I went on to tell you about all of the retailers that we are launching in the very near future (thanks to those of you who have stuck it out this far!). For retailers who aren’t yet on board, we now have built-in template support; so if you have any retailer sheets, we can export it into a retailer’s template from our content management platform within 2 weeks.
Don’t get robbed because you only have a security monitor. Work with a partner that can both identify the problem as well as fix the problem. Partner with a provider that has a rapidly expanding content management network. Keep your content safe by using a provider that can monitor your problems and, more importantly, fix them.
